We Recommend: Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace Insurance
This comprehensive health care reform law enacted in March 2010 (sometimes known as ACA, PPACA, or “Obamacare”) has three primary goals for someone who is in need of health insurance:
- Make affordable health insurance available to more people. The law provides consumers with subsidies (“premium tax credits”) that lower costs for households with incomes between 100% and 400% of the federal poverty level (FPL).
- If your income is above 400% FPL, you may still qualify for the premium tax credit in 2022.
- If your income is at or below 150% FPL, you may qualify to enroll in or change Marketplace coverage through a Special Enrollment Period.
- Expand the Medicaid program to cover all adults with income below 138% of the FPL. (Not all states have expanded its Medicaid programs.
- Support innovative medical care delivery methods designed to lower the costs of health care generally.
The great news about coverage through the marketplace is that we are able to take the minutia out of your search and help you find subsidies you can qualify for and the right plan for you! We will help you determine first if you are eligible to use the marketplace, help you preview health prices and prices to get an estimate, explain what each marketplace plan covers, including treatment for pre-existing medical conditions and other essential health benefits, when you are eligible for enrollment, and benefits after your coverage begins.
Protecting your family’s health is priority, but also important is your wallet! It’s important to protect your wallet from unexpected healthcare costs. Thankfully, we can help you select a family health insurance plan that keeps both your family and finances healthy.
We Recommend: Medicare
In addition to the individual and group health insurance, we also recommend Medicare Insurance as well! As our country’s health insurance plan for people aged 65 and older, Medicare is important to keeping Americans healthy. But, if you’re looking around for the right Medicare coverage for you, you know that it can be a tedious, time-consuming process. With the complexities of the Medicare system and your unique personal needs, it’s easy to get frustrated when you’re on the hunt for coverage.
If you are turning 65, it is important to understand your Medicare process, your coverage, benefits, and the steps to take to make sure you’re set up for your golden years.
Medicare is a federal health insurance program that offers benefits to American citizens as well as permanent legal residents (of a minimum of 5 consecutive years) aged 65 and older, or those who have a qualifying illness or disability.
A majority of people are automatically enrolled in Original Medicare, Part A, and Part B when they reach eligibility. On the other hand, some people need to enroll in Medicare manually.
In simple words, Medicare Part A is basically hospital insurance, whereas Medicare Part B is medical insurance. Again this can be confusing so before you begin call us and we will advise what insurance we recommend.
