We offer you the most affordable individual health insurance plans in Florida, and those are the HMOs, PPOs and POS – Health Maintenance Organizations, Preferred Provider Organizations and Point of Service Plans.
When you’re looking for essential health benefits or health coverage, sorting through Florida health insurance plans, think of FHI. We work not only with the Affordable Care Act through the health insurance marketplace but with and carriers like With an HMO you would get health care for you and your family through a network of physicians and hospitals. This is usually the least expensive of health insurance plans and means you pay a small co-pay for a visit to an HMO care clinic.
A PPO is a group system that was put together by a health insurance company. What happens here is hospitals, clinics and doctors sign contracts with the PPO system to offer health coverage health insurance care to PPO members. Again for PPO health coverage or health benefits there is a small co-pay and a yearly deductible prior to the insurance company paying medical fees. PPOs usually pay roughly 80% of medical fees in the network. However, PPOs cover much more health benefits than an HMO health plan, although the premium may be higher.
A POS is quite similar to an HMO or PPO for health insurance coverage and you go ahead and choose a primary care doctor from a list. That doctor is then the person who looks after all your medical care. If you need a specialist, you will be referred to another doctor within the network of your health insurance coverage. What is somewhat different about a POS is that their network of providers tends to be larger.
Major medical plans offer more than just minimum essential coverage. Through avenues like the Affordable Care Act, major medical coverage can cover preexisting conditions, mental health, vision insurance, doctor office visits, medical expenses, and provide other minimum essential coverage. If you’ve missed the open enrollment period, don’t worry, after speaking with one of our expert licensed insurance agent, we can help you determine whether you are eligible for a qualifying life event through a special enrollment period.
An option for a Major Medical coverage would be a Short Term Health Insurance plan with Golden Rule Insurance company. Owned by UnitedHealthcare life insurance company they provide excellent health plan options for individuals/family plans and self employed.
Florida Healthcare Insurance is proud to work with not just the Marketplace (Affordable care act ACA), but we offer short term health insurance and work with carriers like Unitedhealthcare insurance company and many more. Whether short term health insurance. accident insurance or a health plan through the Affordable Care Act, we’re able to provide options for insurance coverage that works best for your needs.
