It’s not always obvious where to look for health insurance, and you don’t want to end up clicking on the wrong thing and signing up for something you don’t need. The place to go is healthcare.gov — and yes, there are a bunch of links that can take you to where you need to go, but if you’re confused, your best option is to reach out to us! Tip #2 Familiarize Yourself With Insurance Terms
Deductibles, subsidies, premiums, and more — these are just a few terms thrown around in the insurance world, and in order for you to fully understand your coverage and what your insurance plan offers, it’s important for you to familiarize yourself with insurance terms. The more you are aware of the insurance process, the terms, and how it works, the better you’ll be able to shop for plans or converse with your agent about what you’re looking for.
Tip # 4 Know Which Plans Cover Your Doctors
A common misconception is that any plan I find on the marketplace will cover all of my doctors. This couldn’t be more mistaken. In fact finding a medical plan that includes all of your doctors is rather difficult- if not impossible. We advise to always make sure the doctors that your “need” to have take your particular insurance. If they don’t then don’t settle for an inferior plan.
Tip # 3 Know Your Deadlines
This year, the open enrollment period for marketplace plans is from November 1st, 2021 and runs until January 15th, 2022. It’s important to get ahead of the game and not wait until the last minute to start looking for coverage.
