Why Review Your Medicare Coverage Each Year?
Florida Healthcare Insurance · Updated October 12, 2026
A plan that worked for you this year deserves another look before next year begins. Your needs may change, and plan costs, benefits and provider arrangements can change as well.
Start with your plan notices
If you are enrolled in a Medicare plan, look for its Annual Notice of Change in the fall. It describes changes that take effect in January. Read it alongside your Evidence of Coverage, which explains the plan’s benefits and terms. Contact your plan if an expected notice has not arrived.
Review what matters in everyday life
Use your own situation to guide the conversation. A new prescription, specialist visit or change in household finances can affect the questions you need to ask.
- Are the doctors and hospitals you want to use available under the plan?
- How will your prescriptions and pharmacy fit the coverage?
- What will you pay each month and when you receive care?
- Which benefits or rules are changing?
Ask before making a change
Keeping your existing coverage may make sense. Changing it may make sense, too. Ask an advisor to explain the practical differences, relevant enrollment rules and any application requirements. Do not assume that a friend’s plan is the right choice for you.
Make time for a conversation
Have your plan notices and questions ready. We can help you understand the decisions ahead and talk through what needs checking for your circumstances.

Information is educational. Eligibility, coverage and enrollment options depend on current rules and the terms of the plan.
